Just to say many thanks to those of you who have contacted me so far about the draft benchmark statement. I think the comments have been very useful and I'm sure that the members of the SPA Exec's working group will be pleased that, generally speaking, respondents think we have done a reasonable job on what is inevitably a difficult (indeed sensitive!) task.
There are, of course, amemdments to be made and some tightening up to be done here and there. Clearly the public sector management/social administration dimensions needs to be enhanced a bit - which is no great problem - and there are couple of other things that require attention as well. It is important to keep the basic shape of the document because the QAA essentially provide the template and we have to work to it - but there is sufficient flexibility to include the sort of amendments aired so far.
Just to give an extra nudge to those of you thinking about responding, do please feel free to recommend changes to the Introduction - you can be as rude as you like because I wrote it in a hurry and reckon it could be improved. Even better, if you can see any points in the body of the document where a well-honed sentence on 'employability', skills and so on (particularly if it mentions EHEA/Bologna or other EU/national initiatives) could be inserted feel free to give it a go.
Thanks again,
Nick
