Subject: Academic work balance
Hi all
Apologies if you've seen this on AGCAS-LINK but I know not everyone will
be on that list.
I'm looking for some figures that give an idea of the balance of
different work areas for an academic (i.e. lecturer). That is,
proportion of time spent on research, time spent on teaching, on
administration, on other tasks, etc. I have some data from an old AUT
survey from 1994 but I'd prefer something more up to date if it exists.
I'm also aware of the recent YouGov poll conducted by UCU which mentions
average percent of time spent on administration, but does not give data
on other aspects of the job.
Has anyone come across anything like this recently? If so, I'd be
really grateful if you could point me to the source as I've been unable
to locate anything.
Thanks for your help.
Sharon
