The annual User Group Meeting for the 1958 National Child Development Study (NCDS) and the 1970 British Cohort Study (BCS70) will take place on Thursday 14 December 2006 at the Institute of Education in London. This year's meeting will focus on employment, occupations and socioeconomic status in NCDS and BCS70. We envisage that the meeting will be of interest to both experienced researchers and those in government and the voluntary sector who are comparatively new to these large-scale longitudinal datasets.
> In addition to four presentations of recent or ongoing work based on the 1958 and 1970 British Birth Cohorts, there will be ample opportunity for participants to hear about recent developments in the cohort studies and to participate in group discussions concerning plans for the future. Of particular interest for members of the public-health discussion list is Charlotte Clarke and Stephen Stansfeld's presentation on "Lifetime socioeconomic position and depressive and anxiety disorders in mid-life".
