Frodingham ironstone: List members may be
interested in a new publication from Les Wells -
(author of Underground at Santon)- detailng the
events surrounding the discovery of the beds of
ironstone in North Lincolnshire in the late
1850's. Using the Winn (later Lord St Oswald)
family papers and correspondence the events
surrounding the discovery and the establishment
of the associated railway are narrated in a 32
page A4 card-covered booklet available from the
author at £5 50p.including postage. This is part
one of a series and covers 1858 to 1860. Write to
