Good to see the French media is as accurate as ours!!
The Titan shaft was first entered several years ago - Recently discovered in
geological terms perhaps!!
Mind you if you look at the BBC website
http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2006/11_november/06/c
ave.shtml
that says it's "the UK's biggest cave" which is also wrong !!
I also like
"Dave Nixon, ... leading underground explorer." (bet Dave likes that!)
".. the biggest underground discovery ever." (ever been to Mexico?)
"..relatively small number of expert cavers who knew of its existence." (and
I thought Descent was a national magazine!!)
None of this has anything to do with mining other than to raise the question
in my mind as to whether the media reporting on events such as mining
disasters etc is more accurate now or worse!!
Ah but if it's in the paper it must be true ..........
Dave
