--- Apologies for cross posting ---
Places are still available for the following one day conference
“Virtual Learning Environments – what’s all the fuss about?”
A one day conference at Liverpool John Moores University, Monday 11th
December, 2006
Due to the success of two previous conferences, focusing on the
development and demand for library and information support for Virtual
Learning Environments, MMIT North West are pleased to announce a third
such event in this series. This one day conference will take a slightly
different approach, and aim to illustrate how far VLEs have developed over
the last few years and will address the issues surrounding the future of
virtual and personal learning environments.
VLE support from library and information service departments have needed
to adapt along with the innovation and development, to such an extent,
that in many cases there is now little to distinguish between support for
and provision of VLEs within academic settings. Therefore, rather than
demonstrate current practice in support techniques for VLEs, this
conference will concentrate in illustrating the current climate of virtual
learning. Presentations will include case studies from both Higher
Education and Further Education, as well as some debate which aims to
question the need for virtual learning environments in the 21st century.
There will be a panel discussion and an opportunity to ask questions at
the end of the presentations.
