Actually the notion of gender appropriate music does seem to exist.
A fascinating subject I am sure, for instance I learnt from a flute list I
belong to that in the USA the flute is considered very much to be a girls
instrument, not macho at all, yet in folk lore the flute is often used as
euphemism for the penis, likewise the fiddle in folk lore has a sexual
connotation as well as the cello because of the way it is held between the
legs never mind its suggestive shape
As for disability in music I do not know.
When I was young I played the trombone, heaven knows what that connoted.
