Applicants are invited for fixed-term, one year research associate to work
on an ESRC-funded project that seeks to utilise the latest developments in
mobile phone technology to assess the impact of traffic-related air
pollution on children on the journey to and from school. The researcher
will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team at the University and
teachers and children at a local comprehensive school. They will be
expected to work closely with the children during four week-long periods
of data capture, be responsible for the issue and recall of equipment
(mobile phones and GPS units), and be on hand to address technical or
methodological problems as and when they arise. They will also be
expected to assist in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of
information captured via the mobile phone interface (locational, textual,
graphical) and in the dissemination of results.
