PROGRAMMER in INFORMATION INTERACTION
Applications are invited for the post of Programmer in University College London Interaction Centre (UCLIC) working on the Making Sense of Information project. The project is researching how knowledge workers (especially lawyers and journalists) interact with information, and how this supports building a 'picture' of a topic of interest (e.g. corporate fraud, news stories, legislation). The programmer will use insights from this work to develop system prototypes featuring innovative approaches to information representation and interaction for evaluation with target users. The prototypes will feature sufficient functionality and database integration, where required, to enable meaningful user-evaluations. The project has excellent collaborative links with knowledge work organisations, and the post represents an exciting opportunity for someone interested in contributing to state-of-the-art research developments.
Salary is at Grade 7 (£28386 to £37290 with starting salary of £28386 inclusive of London Allowance). The post is available for two years from March 2007. Applications (e-mail or hard
copy) including a covering letter, CV and Personal Information form (available at:
http://www.psychol.ucl.ac.uk/info/Personal_Information.doc),
should be sent to Richard Young, Research Manager, University College London Interaction Centre, Remax House, 31/32 Alfred Place, London WC1E 7DP; [log in to unmask] If applying by e-mail please submit all requested information in one PDF file named by your surname (e.g. Smith.pdf).
