Dear all,
it is a great pleasure for me to send you the first newsletter of the 2007 season! We are back for a new LIFT on February 7, 8 and 9, with more ideas, innovations, cool speakers and surprises than ever. Here is a quick round up of the recent information you need to know:
In this newsletter:

The LIFT07 concept explained
-------------------------
In a word, we propose you a five days experience:
- Wednesday will be for workshops and for meeting new people
- Thursday will be a day to listen to new ideas, lots of new ideas
- Friday will be to connect the dots. We will give you time to think and deepen your new contacts, and a few carefully selected talks.
- Saturday and Sunday are up to you, but that would be very unwise not to ski or enjoy Switzerland. Also, one of the biggest change for 2007 will be an "off" conference with many activities. More details will be released later as we are still working on that. It looks pretty cool so far, I hope you will like it.

Team update
-------------------
I am proud to announce that the following people are joining the LIFT team for the 2007 edition:
Julian Bleecker will join our prestigious advisory board. He heads the Mobile and Pervasive Lab, a near-future think tank and research and development lab at the School of Cinema-TV and the Annenberg Center at the University of Southern California. He is an expert technologist with over 20 years of hands-on experience, fluent in many modern programming languages and best-practices development approaches for distributed networked systems, desktops and mobile devices. His full bio is available here: http://www.techkwondo.com/bio/
Cristiana Freitas will become the event Art Director, focusing mostly on the artistic activities that will be embedded in the conference, and on all the visual/design aspects. Cristiana is the co-founder and director of bread and butter, a Lausanne based design agency that provides high level services to companies like Nestlé, Givaudan, UBS, Pictet, Kodak, Edipresse, and many more. http://www.bread-and-butter.ch
Roberto Ortelli will help us with the technical development of the conference website, a platform that will evolve a lot this year, taking a central role in the organization and unfolding of the event. Roberto is an experienced web developer and blogger currently working with our friends at electron libre. http://www.weblogger.ch

LIFT06 videos
----------------------------------
Some of the 2006 speeches videos have been available for free on the conference website since February, but in streaming only. After many of you asked for a possibility to download the videos I have put all the content on Google video.
So you can now enjoy Cory Doctorow, Euan Semple, Robert Scoble, Bruce Sterling, Régine Debatty or a LIFT06 overview on your iPod for free! We already had more than a thousand views in a week!
