Welcome to the mailing list for the BSA Study Group for the Sociology of 
Social and Public Policy.

As it is a while since I last contacted everyone I thought that I would 
write to let you know what plans are in progress for the group:

We are currently planning to hold a first meeting of this study group. 
Further news coming soon – but this will take place within the next 2-3 
months.

A proposal for a workshop event (proposed title: ‘Policy, Technology and 
Society Workshop’) has also been submitted to the organisers of the BSA 
Annual Conference 2007 - we hope that this event will appeal to members of 
this study group and that we will see you there. The event is subject to 
approval by the BSA conference organisers, however, and we await news in 
late November. More on this as soon as I hear further.

Finally, as this mailing list is now up and running, I do hope that you 
will find it helpful in terms of communicating with each other, or holding 
discussions. I very much look forward to reading any contributions that 
you may make. Should you have any difficulties using the list, please let 
me know.
