Does anyone know of a recommendation anywhere that states what 'Personnel
Files' should contain?
This is an issue that has been thrown up by our ongoing work to develop
corporate retention guidelines. More often than not there are questions
being raised about current procedures for document creation and storage.
The current situation is one whereby we have several documents with
differing retention periods in the same file or folder making the
destruction process very difficult to manage. I would recommend having a
folder containing key personnel information to be kept for a blanket
period.
