Hello list,
We are currently considering investing in EDRMS, and I have been following
with interest the recent "ten commandments" required before implementing
such a system (am currently attempting to develop a file plan that can be
used by those who don't think they want one...looks to be a thankless task,
but has to be done).
My question is, does anybody recommend an EDRMS that works well across
multiple sites? I have been to the TNA list of "approved" EDRMS vendors,
and of course all the products out there sound wonderful and do everything,
as you would expect from company blurb.
We have around 60 separate locations (in England, not overseas), most of
which currently run on their own server. It seems to me that web based
systems are likely to be rather slow, and folks will simply not use it. The
change management implications of a file plan, retention sched etc are
going to be daunting enough, so any system needs to be very user friendly.
Oh yes, we are a charity and therefore not made of money...I realise I am
asking rather a lot, but any advice would be appreciated.
Replies on or off-list, I can summarise in due course if required.
