Out of office messages are notoriously difficult to manage - it is a matter
of individual preference as to what goes into a message and so they range
from the polite to the incomprehensible - It might be useful to include a
standard template for OOMs in your ICT acceptable use policy.
This is my out of office message:
Unfortunately I cannot respond to your email as I am out of the office until
Wednesday 4th October.
If your query relates to Freedom of Information please contact Jonathan
Pepler on 01244 603391 or by email to [log in to unmask]
If your query relates to Records Management please contact Gareth Symons on
01244 602357 or by email to [log in to unmask]
In all other cases I will deal with your email on my return.
Many thanks

Hope this helps

Does anyone have a form of words used for CC Mail messages?
Also would you recommend having a standard, corporate clause for use by
all employees? Can you see any issues with that?
It has come to our attention recently that some of the ones being used are
absolutely shocking and rather rude!
Thanks as always
