I've just come across a quote from a columnist on the Sunday Herald,
writing about the closure of Wanlockhead:
"Can Dumfries and Galloway, which of late has done sterling work in
rebranding itself as a tourist destination, afford to lose one of the few
reasons to pay it a visit?"
Says it all, really.
