The Digital Curation Centre and Liverpool University Centre for Archive
Studies (LUCAS) are pleased to announce that they will be delivering a
two-day workshop to explore pre and post-ingest activity for digital
archival collections. This event will be held in the Gallery at the
Foresight Centre, Liverpool on November 30th and December 1st, 2006.
This workshop will investigate pre and post-ingest activity through a
mixture of case studies and presentations.
Benefits of Attendance:
This workshop will be of benefit to individuals and institutions that are
interested in collecting and managing digital archival collections. This
event will specifically explore key issues associated with developing a
pre-ingest strategy, ingest processes, and preservation activity.
Dates: This workshop will be held on the afternoon of Thursday November 30th
and all day Friday December 1st.
Format
This two-day event will be split over two sessions. The first will explore
pre-ingest activity and will include presentations on developing a
pre-ingest strategy, improving contact with content creators and depositors,
and understanding the benefits of compliance with standards. The second
session will include presentations and case studies that illustrate ingest
processes for a range of record types, format identification, and
preservation activity.
