As the team leader and senior professional of the County Council Archaeology Service, you'll focus on preserving and enhancing awareness of the outstanding archaeology of Wiltshire and Swindon. This will involve managing the service and budget, as well as supervising the team, and advising on good practice. You'll also carry out casework and provide advice to a range of stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence. It's an exciting opportunity to play an integral part in this well developed and highly regarded service, and you'll benefit from our new £11.6m Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre that is nearing completion.
Strong post-qualification experience in archaeological services will be a must. This will include fieldwork, development control and land management. You'll also be committed to preserving and improving access to archaeology and a clear vision as to how this can achieved. The ability to lead and develop our dedicated team will complete the picture.
