Applications are invited for a range of posts in this programme in the
Northern Deanery (North East of England). The main training programme is
based on specialist training posts: Specialist Registrar posts for those
medically qualified and specialist trainee posts for those with a non

effective population health improvement by assessing the health needs of

interventions and influencing change. The Northern Deanery offers
excellent training opportunities and has a successful track record in
training in the specialty. The Health Protection Agency also offers the
opportunity to undertake an extended period of Specialist training for
those interested in a career in health protection.
MBBS or equivalent qualification is essential for applying for a
Specialist Registrar post. Successful candidates must be registered with
the GMC or have evidence of being eligible for GMC registration.

month post as a general trainee to gain experience in Public Health is
also available to suitable applicants. Applicants will have a minimum of
2 years relevant experience in the health and health care sector.
