I participated in an e-research workshop last week and I recall a
colleague from Monash mentioning a 'speed dating' event which brought
together computer scientists with researchers from other disciplines. The
event aimed to make matches between research challenges and potential CS
solutions. I can't find any substantial mention of this event on the
Monash website but I did come across a similar event which happened last
year at University College London
(http://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/news-articles/inthenews/itn0601010). Not sure
how the 'speed dating' concept might transfer to the online world,
however.
Best wishes,
Mike
