I would welcome hearing from somebody who might run a short option in the
above course which trains people in further and higher education in ways of
teaching online. I am considering offering some group work about the
relevance of metadata research and findings to practical teaching contexts.
The option would be part of a general 10 week online course starting Jan 29
2007, on principles of learning and teaching with special reference to the
use of new technologies. Other options that are expected to run are:
• Online discourse and moderating
• Computer-based assessment
• Mobile technologies
• Real-time teaching with CHAT and/or video-conferencing
• Blogging and podcasting and use of a whiteboard
The course is from Institute of Education, University of London, and
carries 30 credits towards either a diploma or a masters. [The fee is £499.]
