The CHAT committee is looking forward to welcoming you to Bristol for the
2006 conference. It's still not too late to register! Please send
registration enquiries to [log in to unmask]
The conference promises to be a really exciting event. In addition to
keynote speakers Laurie Wilkie and Gavin Lucas, Prof. Mary Beaudry (Boston
University), Prof. Matthew Johnson (Southampton University), Kate Clark
(Heritage Lottery Fund) and Prof. Anne Yentsch (Armstrong Atlantic State
University) will act as discussants. Concluding remarks will be given by
Prof. Peter Wells (University of Minnesota).
Since all sessions are plenary, numbers are limited. At CHAT 2003 we had
to close registration before the conference - and although we are in a
larger venue this time we do encourage those who wish to attend to
register by Friday, 3 November. The £30 fee covers coffee and tea, lunch
on the Saturday, and the wine reception on the Friday.
Schedule
The event begins at 2pm on Friday 10 November 2006, and concludes
at 1pm on Sunday 12 November. Registration will be open from 12.30pm in
the Department of Drama. Delegates are asked to arrive by 1.30pm - coffee
and tea (but not lunch) will be provided from 1pm.
Location
The conference takes place in the Wickham Theatre, which is located within
the Department of Drama at the University of Bristol
(http://www.bristol.ac.uk/university/maps/precinct.html) -- a short walk
down the hill from the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology. The
Saturday evening session will take place at the Cube Microplex venue, which
is a short walk from the Drama department.
Accommodation
Delegates are responsible for their own accommodation. There is a great
range of accommodation available within walking distance of the conference
venue. Nearby hotels include the Clifton Hotels Group, the more affordable
Premier Travel Inn at Haymarket, and the Hawthorns (University of Bristol).
Presenters
It's not too late to send your 2000-word summaries to Angela Piccini
([log in to unmask]). Please send by end of this week.
With all best wishes,
Angela, Dan and the CHAT committee
