Paul Ginsborg is Professor of Contemporary European History at the
University of Florence and eminent commentator on politics, the media
and democracy in Italy.
He is author of a number of books, including 'A History of
Contemporary Italy: 1943-1988' (1990), 'Italy and its Discontents:
Family, Civil Society, State, 1980-2001' (2001), and 'Berlusconi:
Television, Power and Patrimony' (2004)
