Finally got starlink to build properly.
Here's a summary of the ubuntu packages that I needed to install.
sudo apt-get install the following:
build-essential
autoconf
automake1.9
cvs
flex
bison
libx11-dev
xorg-dev
xlibs-dev
libncurses5-dev
csh
tcsh
Stuff that didn't get caught by configure that I felt should have been
because "make world" fails:
PCS:
icl_reada.c:98:3: error: #error "Unable to locate curses installation"
To which the solution is obviously installing libncurses5-dev.
AGI:
make[3]: ./make_agp_files: Command not found
This one was good for a chuckle. The basic kubuntu system only has bash
and sh. I needed to have csh in order to build AGI! I also put in tcsh for
good measure...
Other weirdness:
Just the libf95.a issue with CHR,
ld: /home/echapin/g95-install/bin/../lib/gcc-lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.0.1//libf95.a(transfer.o):
relocation R_X86_64_32S against `a local symbol' can not be used when
making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/home/echapin/g95-install/bin/../lib/gcc-lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.0.1//libf95.a:
could not read symbols: Bad value
To which the solution was finding the g95 that I had previously used with
a libf95.a that was compiled with "-fPIC".
cheers,
Ed
