The Social Market Foundation, the independent public policy think tank, is
extremely pleased to invite you to attend a keynote speech from the Rt
Hon. Alan Johnson MP, Secretary of State for Education and Skills.
The speech, which is being held with the kind support of Working Links,
will address how education can promote social mobility and look at what
the government can do to ensure that every child gets the best start in
life.
Alan Johnson will use this speech as an opportunity to take a wide-ranging
look at the role education can play in tackling poverty. He will consider
the importance of early interventions in a child’s education and how the
government can better support parents to help their children realise their
full potential, whatever their background. He will set out a number of the
policy priorities of his department for the coming term and explain how
these policies will help to promote social mobility.
We have a few places left for this speech, which will be allocated on a
first come, first served basis. If you can join us, please contact Jo
Saunders on [log in to unmask] or call 020 7227 4402. There is no charge
for attendance at this event.
