Graduate Trainee: University Records and Archives Assistant
Salary: £14,887 - £17,068 p.a.
We are looking for graduates with relevant qualifications for the above position
based in the Archives section. Applicants should have a minimum second class
honours degree, good communication and interpersonal skills with proficient IT
ability. They are also expected to have experience of working with an
integrated library system. The ability to communicate effectively in Welsh or
a willingness to learn to a basic level is essential. Support will be given to
attain a professional qualification in Archive Administration.
Main duties include: responsibility for the day to day running of the University
Records Centre, maintaining and updating the physical arrangements and database
of records, assisting with search room supervision within the Archives which
includes retrieving documents for readers, answering enquiries and carrying out
reprographic requests.
The successful applicant will be responsible to the University Archivist and the
Assistant Registrar and should be confident in their ability to effectively
manage their own workload and balance priorities in discussion with their
respective line managers.
