caught in the bright lights
searchlights say
or surveillance falling
failing hearts stopped cold
behind that razor
wired possibility
priored for some
other way out
side with or against
across such a fantastic divide
long sung
beyond ramparts overhung
with night darkness
where they stand
hunched fearful
against what once were friends
