Arts & Business
A&B aspires to be the world's most successful & widespread creative network.
We help business people support the arts & the arts inspire business people,
because good business & great art together create a richer society. Our
purpose is to enable business and its people to be more successful by
engaging with the arts and to increase resources for the arts from business
and its people. Much of our work is devoted to advocacy and lobbying at both
a national and international level, and we disseminate information about the
value of arts/business partnerships through leading edge research and
evaluation.
As the leading advocate for the benefits of partnership between business and
the arts at both corporate and individual level we deliver a range of
services to both sectors. These include our three signature programmes:
*	Funding from central government helps us to foster innovative and
long-term partnerships between business and the arts through our investment
programme, New Partners
*	With support from both the private and public sectors, we also run a
series of highly reputed professional development programmes which promote
the exchange and development of skills between the business and arts
communities.
*	The Prince of Wales Arts & Kids Foundation has been established to
highlight the vital importance that the arts play in developing our
children. We help businesses develop practical ways of helping children
engage with the arts. www.artsandkids.org.uk

regional, national, or international importance to higher education. You can

*	'CURL-RIN Challenge Fund for Copac enhancement: The Consortium of
Research Libraries (CURL) and the Research Information Network (RIN)
recognise the importance of facilitating the discovery of the widest
possible range of research materials for the UK research community, as
simply as possible. We believe that through encouraging libraries to expose
their holdings for this purpose, and providing practical support to enable
this, benefits can be quickly delivered to research institutions and
researchers alike.
*	CURL and the RIN have therefore jointly contributed to a 'Challenge
Fund' to enhance Copac by significantly extending the range of research
material it covers. The Fund is being launched as an open call to libraries
with relevant holdings to apply for inclusion.
*	Applicants to the Challenge Fund are invited to submit proposals to
have their collections added to Copac, the cost of which will be met by CURL
and the RIN.
*	This call is especially intended to appeal to special libraries,
public libraries, and learned society libraries, although academic libraries
that have significant named or specialist collections are actively
encouraged to apply. There is no upper or lower limit on database size but
preference will be given to collections adding a greater quantity of new
material to the database over those that largely duplicate existing
holdings.'
*	Deadline for applications: 20 October 2006
*

Lloyds TSB Foundation - funding application procedures:
Following a review of the way that the Foundation works they have decided
that it would be preferable to visit every potential applicant who is
considering applying for a grant of £5,001 and above. The visit must take
place before the charity completes an application form.
Please note that all applicants must contact the Foundation before applying.
It is important for charities to take these changes into account when
developing a funding strategy.
