5. HYFFORDDIANT A CHYNHADLEDDAU

"Your Place or Mine? Engaging Audiences with Heritage
A major conference for professionals working across the heritage sector in
the UK and internationally.
2nd-3rd November 2006, Manchester Town Hall
Your Place or Mine? Is a major national conference for 400 delegates
commissioned by English Heritage Outreach Department and the National
Trust's Learning Department. It will address some of the key questions
facing both practitioners and strategists in the heritage sector that are
working to broaden and increase community involvement with heritage:
*	How can we bring new audiences to heritage?
*	What does access mean? What does success look like?
*	How do we excite young people? How do we engage with black and
minority ethnic communities?
*	What does heritage mean to people? How do we make it relevant?
*	What works in outreach? And where's the compelling evidence?"

Olympics and Heritage: how will we connect?
Statistics from previous Games demonstrate how hosting the Olympics boosts
the national economy. Regional economies benefit as Queensland, Australia
did to the tune of £6m from the UK training camp for the Sydney Games. 4bn
viewers worldwide, no doubt taking in the historic backdrop already used to
promote the UK bid, will enhance the visitor economy by up to £2bn through
Games-related tourism and Games-motivated tourism over a 7 - 10 year period.
