The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation have recently
announced the 25 recipients of the 2006 MacArthur Fellowships -- aka
the "genius" grants -- and John Zorn was amongst them. The
experimental musician, saxophonist, composer, and head of Tzadik
Records will receive $500,000 over a period of five years, to be used
however he sees fit.
