Disability Rights Commission – Call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a
critical review of the evidence base on disabled people’s experiences of
harassment and anti social behaviour within the social housing context in
Britain.
The Disability Rights Commission (DRC) are looking for suitably qualified
researchers/research team to undertake a critical review of the evidence
base on disabled people’s experiences of harassment and anti social
behaviour, within the social housing context in Britain. It is anticipated
that the review will principally cover two separate but inter-related
themes, namely:
1. the extent to which disabled people are victims of harassment and
other forms of anti social behaviour in Britain; and the extent to which
existing ASB strategies are effective in addressing harassment of
disabled people; and
2. the extent to which a person's impairment or the behaviour
associated with a person's impairment is being interpreted as constituting
ASB, and the extent to which ASBO’s are being issued on this basis;
Applications are invited from academic departments, research organisations,
voluntary and community organisations and other bodies, either
independently or working in partnership.
To register your interest, please send an email, including your full
contact details, as well as a brief description of research skills and
expertise relevant to the project, to [log in to unmask]
The closing date for EOI’s is Tuesday 3rd October 2006. The work will go
out to tender shortly after the closing date, and it is intended that the
research will be completed in early 2007.
Any enquiries should be addressed in the first instance to breda.twomey@drc-
