Dear All,
The field visit to Otmoor is organised for Wednesday the 6th of
September. We are planning to be on site from 13:30 to 16:00. I have
hired a 17 seater minibus and we will use cars for any extra people.
There is no coach access to the site. We will be leaving at 13:00 from
the department of Zoology, Oxford University. David Wilding (Otmoor
warden, RSPB) will be taking us around the site and among us there will be
some who have worked on the site.
Some of you have e-mailed me registering your interest and will have a
place on the minibus unless you want to go by car share. Some of you may
wish to come but have not informed me and indeed there are still places on
the minibus or you may be able to drive or get a lift by car. The minibus
could even do two trips if there was a lot of interest as it is only a
short distance. We can finalise this Tuesday.
Obviously, suitable outdoor clothing and footwear will be needed for all
those intending to come.
The timing of the field visit to Otmoor overlaps with the currently
timetabled MRG AGM. We will need to postpone this to 16:30 or to the bar
one evening. If any of you have any items you would like to be included
in the agenda please e-mail them to me. Thanks.
I hope to see many of you at the Thematic topic on Wetland Restoration
from Tuesday from 11:30 to 17:40, followed by the visit to Otmoor on the
Wednesday, MRG AGM and Restoration Ecology Poster session and our session
from Thursday 8:30 to 12:10 on Wetland Ecology (with many talks related to
restoration).
Thanks for your support.
Best wishes,
Deborah
Again I apologies for the cross posting
