OK, I just joined the stardev mailing list, so I missed some replies when
this thread got forwarded there (just checked the archives).
Here's an update/recap : I originally wrote asking about bootstrapping
the new Keoe Vega Starlink on a fresh install of Ubuntu 6.06.1 on an
AMD-64 system. I'm not super-familiar with Linux and this is my first try
at dealing with packages on Ubuntu. I ran into problems with m4 while
bootstrapping but solved it (if I recall correctly I needed some libraries
related to automake, not sure which ones exactly as I just went hog-wild
and installed a bunch of possibilities). I'm now stuck on ./configure.
I've installed xlibs-dev and other x11 things that looked promising, yet I
am still getting an error that the x11 libraries cannot be found.
Would this be simpler on Fedora Core 5? I have two (actually 3 at the
moment!) systems running Linux at home, so I could easily try FC5 now and
then poke around with Ubuntu on another system later on. I'd really just
like to get the SMURF software up and running on the AMD-64 A.S.A.P.
Thanks for all your help!
