on my OSX box it's in:
/usr/lib/libncurses.5.4.dylib
/usr/lib/libncurses.5.dylib
/usr/lib/libncurses.dylib
but libncurses was not part of Panther so this is all related to the same
underlying problem. They need to use Tiger.
