Subject: GASAT Conference
GASAT12 (that's the 12th Gender and Science and Technology international
conference) has the theme "Challenging and Changing the Status Quo". It
runs Sunday 3rd to Friday 8th September at Brighton University -- the
out-of-town campus. The conference is about:
>recognising that gender bias, gender segregation and gender
>discrimination occur in many aspects and at many levels in science and
>technology, most often to the disadvantage of women and girls.
Stop press: Shirley Malcolm of the American Association for the Advancement
of Science will be there, along with many other influential women from
across the world.
The UNESCO International Report on Science, Technology, and Gender 2006,
will have a launch event there on the Wednesday.
There is a programme on the GASAT12 website at
http://www.gasat12.org.uk/programme.html Do look to see if if there is a
day that attracts you.
