I believe that I retained the documentation duing major clearouts
of Starlink filing cabinets and DLG's office. They're in a filing
cabinet in Brian's office. Hardly anyone is in today. I'll follow
this up once I can get access to the MEDC folder, and speak to DLG, who
had dealings with Colin Vincent over software contracts forrmerly
handled by Starlink.
As David says building is an issue because of the commercial MEMSYS
library can't be put in CVS, hence we don't build MEM2D. We could
build MEM2D outside of the CVS system, and indeed probably provide the
library to trusted parties---they may have to sign the licensing
agreement---who would have to restrict access to MEMSYS.
> Did it have an expiration date?
Good question.
The fact that MEMSYS was developed on Starlink machines ought to make
the developers more amenable to give us a good deal. I would have
thought that they've made their money from industrial, security, and
defence contracts.

I concur.
