Looks like you managed to compile TclX with gcc, I believe that's a symbol
from libgcc.

Well, I had a word with Alan Lotts our system admin and he seemed amenable
to trying to doing this at Durham. The problem is where exactly are we
rooting the build, /star seems likely from these error messages, that
would mean monopolizing a machine. There's also the issue of ORAC and
friends. I guess you could tack those on at JAC?
