The second Art Of Record Production Conference is being hosted by Prof. Simon Frith at the University of Edinburgh on 8th - 10th September 2006. Alongside the program of academic papers we will be aiming to continue with the format of last year's conference by involving industry professionals to promote a dialogue with academia. At present the conference details include:
* Registration will take place at 4p.m. on Friday 8th September followed by the welcome session and the keynote
* Joe Boyd (Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, R.E.M, Fairport Convention, Nico, Incredible String Band, John Martyn, Richard & Linda Thompson, Toumani Diabate, Ivo Papasov, 10,000 Maniacs, Cubanismo, The Dinner Ladies) will be the keynote speaker for the conference.
* Industry panelists include:

Paul Borg (Mori Kante, Cheb Bilal, Abdel Gadir Salim, Emmanuel Jal, Busted, Girls Aloud, Urban Species)
Richard Burgess (Spandau Ballet, Living In A Box, Adam Ant, Kim Wilde, Colonel Abrahams)
Mike Howlett - Chairman of the Music Producer's Guild (Tears For Fears, OMD, The Teardrop Explodes, Martha and the Muffins, Gang Of Four, China Crisis, Berlin, Thompson Twins, Joan Armatrading, The Alarm)
Paul Savage (Chemikal Underground Records, Delgados)
* Paul Theberge presenting and discussing mixes of Glenn Gould's 'Acoustic Choreography' 8 track recordings of Scriabin
* Paul Borg presenting and discussing mixes of 'Ceasefire' by Emmanuel Jal and Abdel Gadir Salim
* Launch of the first issue of the on-line Journal on the Art of Record Production (JARP) with guest editor, Prof. Simon Frith.

The registration cost for the conference is £60 before Aug 31st and £70 thereafter.

There is no separate student rate. This includes a buffet dinner on the Friday evening. Tea and coffee (and lunch on Saturday) will be provided on the weekend.
