SQUATTERS PARADISE
In case you missed Mark Whitaker's programme on squatting in 1946 last

SUMMER DIRECTIVE 2006
We're already receiving responses to History Matters (a collaboration with
the National Trust), Core British Values and the World Cup. Responses will
be ready for access at the end of September. Do get in touch if you would
like to work with us on future directive themes.
NELLA LAST'S WAR
Granada are making a television film of Mass Observation diarist Nella
Last's war years, to be called, 'Housewife, 49'. The script was written by
Victoria Wood who will play the lead role. Further details to follow; news

KENNETH ALLSOP
Mark Andresen, a current Mass Observer (who has given us permission to use
his real name) has asked us to tell you about his new book, Field of
Vision: The Broadcast Life of Kenneth Allsop (Trafford Publishing). Early
Mass Observer Richard Fitter contributed to the book before he died; he was
an early influence on Kenneth Allsop in the 1940s. For more information,
