To All,
I found the documents under-written (in early 17th-century)
The Bench ordered that no servant of any cloth woolen weaver, tucker,
cloth shearman, dyer....shall not take for the whole year for his wage
above 3 pounds....
Every carpenter, mason, tyler.. shall not take by the day above 5 pence...
Master Thatcher, master carpenter, master plumber...shall not take 7 pence
the day...
What did the term 'servant' mean by or was it used as/for?
H.I.
