FORTHCOMING FROM TROUBADOR ITALIAN STUDIES
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
A flurry of new Italian Studies titles are due out this autumn, with
a full publishing program scheduled for 2007. This autumn sees the
publication of four new books:
"Woman Like Me" by Curzio Malaparte
This is the first English translation of Malaparte's "Donna come
me" (trans. Robin Monotti)
"Laboratorio di nuova ricerca: Investigating Gender, Translation and
Culture in Italian Studies" edited by Monica Boria and Linda Risso
This volume gathers together original articles by young researchers
in Italian Studies, reflecting the dynamic outlook of current
research, and offering an overview of the development of the
discipline in British higher education.
"Through Human Love to God: Essays on Dante and Petrarch" by Pamela
Williams
This book is on the nature of love in two of the world's greatest
love poets writing within the Catholic tradition and bearing witness,
each in a highly original way, to the relation between human and
divine love.
"Man in Disorder: The Cinema of Lina Wertmüller in the 1970s" by
Grace Russo Bullaro
Despite the phenomenal international success that Italian director
Lina Wertmüller attained in the 1970s with films such as 'Swept Away'
and 'Seven Beauties', there has been no full length, in depth study
of her four major films. This book fills this inexplicable void in
the scholarship of Italian cinema.

JUST PUBLISHED
"Il romanzo contemporaneo: voci italiane" edited by Franca Pellegrini
and Elisabetta Tarantino
The essays in this volume adopt different angles in their portrayal
of different authors. The aim is to give an accurate, rich and three-
dimensional picture of the Italian novel on the cusp between the
twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
"Death or Deception: Sense of Place in Buzzati and Morante" by Felix
Siddell
This book examines the evocation of place in the roles of Dino
Buzzati and Else Morante.
