Joint Anthropology/International Affairs Position
The Department of Anthropology at The New School for Social Research and The
New School's Graduate Program in International Affairs invite applications
for a tenured faculty position. The successful candidate will have an
outstanding record of interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching that
engages both empirically and theoretically in an ethnographically-grounded
manner with questions related to boundaries, movement, territorialities,
citizenship, migration, border politics, transnational sovereignties, and/or
zones of confinement and containment. Geographical specialty is open. We
expect the person who fills this position to take an active role in
interdisciplinary efforts to foster the study of migration and borders at
the New School and its International Center on Migration, Ethnicity and
Citizenship.
