It's not clear that version numbers and dates are all that helpful - and
if they were we could always write a script to parse the standard latex
header.... They won't be maintained unless something is automatic so they
probably should be left off.

I was referring to the other files in "info" that Norman was saying were
completely irrelevant now that Starlink don't exist.
