I'm trying to finish the proofs of my edition of Northrop Frye's early
critical writings (Collected Works, vol. 21, out in November) -- and
here's a last-minute, desperate annotation query. Frye says that FQ
2.4.35 "was quoted in a contemporary rhetoric book before the Faerie
Queen was published." OK, I must have known this once, but now I don't;
please help! What was the rhetoric book? Of I know what it was I'll
find it on EEBO and get the page reference. Miserably, Germaine
