As I am sure you are aware, ultimately business continuity is about risk
management based upon business objectives. The one thing over 20 years
experience has taught me is that it isn't simple. If it was, everyone would
be doing it by now!

I agree with you on the obvious advantages of keeping electronic records
and the ability for them to duplicated and held in different locations.
If it was only this simple but what about organisations that:
.have physical records that cannot be kept electronically
.cannot afford the costs of transferring all physical records to
e-format
.cannot manage the process or costs for ensuring the legal status of e
records
.fear potential disadvantages to e records - e.g. cost and difficulties
of access over long periods of time
I am sure the LG Group will consider the broad view of RM issues around
long term records retention and storage and look forward to their
report.
