Following our RAID failure last week I have put together a wee DPNS
utilities package which consists of 3 tools:
1. A utility to list SURLs associated with particular SFNs, disk
servers, pools or filesystems.
2. A utility to migrate disk replicas in the nameserver (it does the
DPNS bit - you have to to the rsync migration yourself).
3. A utility to purge the DPNS of the nameserver and replica entries
associated with a particular filesystem.
Unfortunately, due to the antediluvian version of MySQL-python
supplied with SL3, you'll need an SL4 machine to run them (or
anything that supports a modern version of MySQL-python - they were
mainly written and tested using OS X).
Before using the second or third utilities _backup_ your database.
This is an early release which helped Glasgow out of a pickle, but
extensive testing has not been done!
See

I'll work on some procedures for recovering from disk loss in the wiki.
Cheers
