Full fees (EU students) + annual maintenance bursary of £12000.
Design and Social Participation
Applications are invited from a graduate designer or design theorist to
undertake an MPhil/PhD research studentship at the Leeds School of
Architecture, Landscape and Design at Leeds Metropolitan University. The
emphasis of the research will be on the strategic and contextual use of
design within processes of social participation. The research may be
practice-based, theoretical or contextual in focus, or a mixture of these.
This expanding area may encompass research on design in the public sphere,
or design for inclusivity, sustainability or development. The successful
student’s project may be based in one or a combination of the following
design disciplines: urban environmental design; spatial design; product
design; design theory.
