The CIRM 2006 Conference on “Destinations and Locations: Exploring the
Multiple Identities of Place” will take place in Manchester on September
6th and 7th.
An eclectic programme of nearly 50 papers from around the world has been
put together, covering a wide range of issues relating to town and city
centre management, tourism and destination marketing, and place, culture
and identity. Presenters are drawn from about twenty countries on five
continents, providing much scope for international comparisons and
networking.

The standard delegate rate is £215, which includes a pack with the
Proceedings, two buffet lunches, the Conference Dinner at the Lowry
Centre, refreshments, and an optional excursion. A reduced rate of £135
is available to registered postgraduate students. Accommodation is not
included in the fee, but can be arranged for you.
The venue is Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, located
in the city centre, only a few minutes from the main railway station,
which is connected to the airport with a frequent train service.
