ANNOUNCEMENT
MARK BRADSHAW MEMORIAL AWARD
This year, for the first time, the AVA is offering the Mark Bradshaw
Award, in memory of Professor Mark Bradshaw who died in 2004.
A number of open awards, of up to £500 each, will be made every two
years, to help junior vision researchers with their research.
Applicants should detail on the application form how they would like to
spend the award. The number of awards to be made on each occasion will
be decided by the Committee. Each recipient will be asked to write a
report of how the money was used, for posting on the AVA website.
The closing date for applications for the AVA’s Mark Bradshaw Award
this year is 31st August, 2006.
Applicants should:
- be AVA members
- be a postgraduate studying for a higher degree, or a junior
scientist within five years of achieving their doctorate
- have attended at least one AVA meeting in the last 18 months.
Application forms may be downloaded from the AVA website
(www.theava.net) and should be sent to the AVA Secretariat, together
with a letter of support from your PhD supervisor.
