Four of us each work late 'til 9pm one day a week but not at weekends.
We each have a day off a week which occasionally gets eaten in to for
prospective cover.
My day off is not compensation for the late shift, its just the Trust have
run out of PAs (ie money) to employ me for anymore work. Don't fall in to
the trap of thinking that time off is anything to do with compensating you
for late work, they are buying your time off you, and when they run out of
money, you don't work for them anymore. A subtle state of mind sometimes,
but stops you feeling 'grateful' towards your employers and empowers you in
negotiations!

Subject: consultant late shifts
what late shifts are colleagues working in other emergency departments and
how often are they working these late shifts?
what weekend shifts are colleagues working and again on what frequency?
do colleagues get a day off each week or most weeks for working contracted
late /weekend shifts.
answers a.s.a.p much appreciated.
