Although not in competition I am CoG at a brand new secondary and asked
a similar question and was told we have a simple choice; purchase a
solution that a supplier is able to maintain based on descriptions of
what teachers want to do or employ people with skills to interface
between the teacher, 3rd part developer etc. We don't even have the
justification or cash for a specialist ICT teacher until next year.
As a school we waste enough SLT time, effort and money pursuing things
of questionable benefit without reinventing a bespoke VLE. Please let
the teachers teach and the developers cut code. School websites, that's
another blackhole for effort, time and money.
Agghh you've got me started and I was having a good day :-)
